With this advantage, EVs are the perfect mode of transport for the economy and environment. Just for these reasons alone, they would be irresponsible to impose EU designated tariffs on Chinese EVs.

Even now, it's not too late. I suggest Norway should speedily arrange the award ceremony. It will be a world shaking event, and Norway will glow again.

There is never over-production, if US, JPN or EU cannot provide cars with MODERN experience at a reasonable price, it will be their people's loss to face extra tariff on Chinese EVs.

Norway exported about 3.4 billion dollars of crude oil and a half billion in fish to China in 2022 and Norway doesn’t make cars. I’m thinking a tariff war with China over EV,s would hurt Norway a lot more than China. Plus they don’t want China turning to Russia for its oil imports (which is a possibility)

Overcapacity is a lie spread by US and West. It's overcompetitive as US and West cannot beat China fairly. Chinese brands are going to dominate in the EV market worldwide. But free trade and fair competition are no longer agreed by US and EU as they cannot compete with China fairly. US and West are heading to protectionism which will create uncompetitive business environment and products eventually. Thus speed up their decline.

brexit was never going to be a positive for trade but was about retaining sovereignty which longer term will be a positive for the country as i think the EU is not a democratic institution. For example we can now decide on traffics we wont to have on chinese EVs. -)

No difference tariff or no tariff. This is already costed in that the entire west have zero courage to compete. This is the reason why Chinese cars can be made so very cost effectively. The Chinese uses more SWOT analysis than anyone in the west. The Chinese strive to overcome this threat and deficit. More cowardly tariff in the future. I hope Norway will follow so that China will not owe it any favor.

"Over capacity" only a problem for countries that are not competitive and have to resort to tariffs shield their EV industries from actual competition. For many countries that unlikely to have their own EV industries, low cost EV is good for them.

Only countries who want these China EVs & green technologies are seriouly want to save the planet. Countries ganging up with US aganist the China affordable EVs & others green technologies are not serious or had no intentioon of saving the palnet. As you said, it make no sense in waiting for the less quality western EVs & more expensive because this is going to increase the carbon footprint, the supply chain's are all in China, China had a decade of experience & the labour with higher GDP per capital. However the planet need saving now because the UN green experts reported the net zero emmission target is missed again, year after year this is why the planet is in crisis. The western mafia are playing politics & are all mouth, full of promises after promises in every COP conferences had no intention of saving the planet. The western developed countries knew that the planet needed saving more than a few decades ago but do nothing and on top it they hide the report & lies to us.
